Magnesium spray
I spray this on my stomach for fast absorption, and on any aching joints every night before snuggling down under the covers. Not only does it help to ease muscle soreness, but helps you to fall and stay asleep. I cannot be without it!
Lavender pillow spray
I alternate between this brand and Champneys, but I find both equally effective for aiding my sleep and preparing my mind to slow down for rest. Another item that goes everywhere with me when i’m spending the night away from home.
Microwave neck beanbag
I have this exact beanbag in green (I wish mine was pink!) and it has been an absolute life-saver when I’ve been suffering from neck, back and period pain. When tension headaches strike, this baby goes everywhere with me.
Epsom Salts
I buy this big 5kg bag as it’s more cost effective, but you can spend less and buy a smaller quantity. Epsom salts are amazing in the bath for relaxing post-workout muscles. Also see How To Make Relaxing Lavender Bath Salts
Manduka Yoga Mat
I wasted so much money on truly crap yoga mats before my yoga teacher recommended I buy a Manduka PRO mat. I wouldn’t practice yoga or workout without it now. It has the perfect amount of cushion and grip, without stretching or slipping away. If you don’t mind minor imperfections, you can save a few pounds by purchasing an ‘almost perfect’ mat and save it from landfill.
Period Repair Manual
This ultimate book by Lara Briden is full of essential insight into reproductive health and hormones. It’s one of those books every girl should have for regular and quick access to essential information about period health. I have recommended all my friends get a copy! For more books, see Self Help Books & Podcasts.
Aromatherapy Balm
After Scentered very kindly sent me a press sample of their De-stress Aromatherapy Balm it’s become my ‘go to’ in times of stress. It smells amazing and has the perfect non-greasy texture for rubbing on pulse points throughout the day for instant relaxing vibes .
Beauty Essentials
Eyelash perming / eyebrow lamination kit
I cannot tell you how impressive and amazing value this kit is. I was so dubious about whether this would work, but it genuinely did. My eyelashes are still perfectly curled weeks later. And because i’m not wearing mascara or using metal curlers now, my lashes are growing thicker! For more budget beauty hacks, read Beauty and the Budget
Eyelash tinting kit
Another beauty product that exceeded my expectations. Whilst it isn’t quite as good as a professional tint (are any home kits?) for a tiny fraction of the price, I’m converted to home eyelash tinting with this kit which darkens my lashes to my desired shade in just minutes.
Ogx Bonding Plex
Since I colour my hair, I take care to use sulphate-free hair products which help to protect the bonds affected by colouring. The three-step OGX Bonding Plex regime is a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in bonding cream which helps to maintain my hair colour and strength.
Facial cleansing brush
I started using this brush daily about 2 years ago and it has completely changed the texture of my skin. I use it with cleanser morning and night to unclog my pores, and smooth my skin. If I go even a couple of days without using this brush, I notice breakouts and a rougher skin texture.
